Daydream Island to Reopen

Daydream Island has long been a favourite destination for bareboat holiday makers in the Whitsundays. Situated close to the mainland, the island resort provides an excellent first or last night stop for a bareboat holiday, in a beautiful protected anchorage.

The resort offered a bareboat mooring option that would also give you access to the island’s facilities. Customers could go ashore and have a swim in the resort pools, enjoy a cocktail at the swim-up bar, and experience the magnificent Living Reef aquarium – the southern hemisphere’s largest outdoor aquarium, full of Great Barrier Reef fish and coral species, with a series of hands-on experiences.

Sadly, Cyclone Debbie had a huge impact on the island and consequently it has been closed for refurbishment since late March 2017. There is now a $100 million redevelopment well underway and the island resort is due to open in early 2019, approximately 2 years after Debbie.
