New Years Eve on Hamilton Island While Bareboating
Did you know that while you are bareboating, you can still party the night away at an island resort on New Years Eve? Hamilton Island throws an awesome New Years Eve party every year, but you will need to book your marina berth well ahead as they book out every year!
There’s fireworks, and live music all night long on a stage set up on Front Street, the main street that surrounds the marina. You can then party into the wee hours at The Garden Bar before walking the short distance back to your boat to sleep.
Recovery day on Hamilton Island, enjoy a big recovery breakfast at one of the many amazing restaurants on the island. And if you have time for a swim before departing your marina berth before 11am, you can even swim up to the Island Bar in the main pool for some refreshments.
Family New Years Activities on Hamilton Island
Got the kids with you? Good news, Hamilton island is very family-friendly. The main fireworks on New Years Eve at 8.30pm are perfect for kids, and the live music in the early part of the evening will suit as well, so the whole family can have a boogie on the main street dancefloor before the little ones need to retire to bed.
The island offers a host of family activities in addition to the Kids Clownfish Club, like mini golf, art classes, bowling alley, go kart racing, quad bikes for kids, the WILD LIFE park, and of course kids LOVE the buggies you can hire to drive around Hamilton Island – sometimes that’s enough excitement in itself!
New Years Eve in Airlie Beach
Airlie Beach will also host a main beach party in town with fireworks. Berthing is available at Abell Point Marina and again advance bookings are recommended. The nightclubs in Airlie Beach will party till the sun comes up, and you can walk back to the marina from town easily.
Recovery day in Airlie Beach, enjoy a hearty breakfast cooked for you at one of the marina or main street eateries. You can also enjoy a refreshing swim in the public Airlie Beach lagoon swimming pool, before departing the marina by 12 midday to continue on the rest of your week-long New Years holiday.
